We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join a major commercial construction project in the heart of the City of London, close to Liverpool Street Station, on a 3-month freelance contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day electrical works on site.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and client representatives.
- Review electrical drawings, technical submissions, and design changes.
- Monitor programme, progress, and quality of installation.
- Manage procurement of electrical materials and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with BS 7671, CDM Regulations, and all health & safety requirements.
- Oversee testing, commissioning, snagging, and final handover.
- Attend site meetings and provide regular progress updates.
Requirements
- Proven experience delivering commercial building projects, ideally on large-scale office, mixed-use, or high-rise developments.
- Strong knowledge of LV distribution, lighting, fire alarm, emergency lighting, containment, and BMS systems.
- Ability to manage subcontractors and coordinate multiple workstreams.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Relevant engineering qualification (HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services preferred).
