The Role
As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you will lead electrical engineering packages, contribute to multidisciplinary design coordination, and ensure high-quality delivery across multiple projects. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the electrical design for education, residential, and commercial projects
- Produce and review technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and engineering reports
- Undertake calculations, system sizing, and design modelling
- Coordinate electrical designs with mechanical, architectural, and structural disciplines
- Attend client and design team meetings, presenting technical solutions clearly and confidently
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of design standards
- Support project planning, fee proposals, and delivery strategies
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or related discipline
- Proven experience working at Senior Engineer level within a UK building services consultancy
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems including LV distribution, lighting, power, fire alarms, and data services
- Experience across education, residential, and commercial sectors
- Familiarity with UK building regulations, CIBSE guidelines, and modern sustainable design practices
- Strong communication, organisation, and stakeholder-management skills
- Working toward chartership (CEng) or already chartered is advantageous
