The Opportunity
We are working closely with a well-established Tier 2 main contractor to appoint an experienced Site Manager for a major cut & carve / refurbishment-led scheme in prime Central London. The project is a £60m development involving significant structural alterations, complex sequencing and high-quality finishes, located in a highly constrained urban environment. This is a long-term role offering real ownership of site delivery on a flagship project.

They are particularly well regarded for their work on cut & carve, refurbishment and high-end commercial/residential schemes, where logistics, quality and programme control are critical. The company typically turns over £130m per annum and operates with a collaborative, professional culture that values strong site leadership and well-run projects.
The Role
As Site Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day site delivery, reporting into a Project Manager and senior operational team. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing all site-based construction activities from structural works through to fit-out
- Leading and coordinating subcontractors and direct labour
- Driving health & safety standards, toolbox talks, RAMS and site compliance
- Managing programme at site level, coordinating trades and short-term planning
- Ensuring quality standards are met and maintained throughout delivery
- Overseeing logistics, access and sequencing in a constrained city-centre location
- Maintaining clear communication with the project and commercial teams
The Ideal Candidate
- Proven experience as a Site Manager on cut & carve, refurbishment or complex new build projects
- Comfortable working on £20m+ projects in Central London or similarly constrained environments
- Strong understanding of structural alterations, temporary works and sequencing
- Excellent H&S leadership and site organisation skills
- Quality-focused, with experience delivering high-spec finishes
- Professional, calm and proactive approach to site management
