As a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a key leadership role within the mechanical team. Key Responsibilities- Lead mechanical design elements across education, residential, and commercial projects from concept to completion
- Provide technical leadership, ensuring quality standards and best-practice engineering principles
- Manage and mentor junior and intermediate engineers
- Engage with clients, architects, and project stakeholders to deliver coordinated building services solutions
- Oversee production of reports, specifications, drawings, and technical documentation
- Contribute to fee proposals, resource planning, and project budgeting
- Support the business in driving innovation and sustainable design approaches
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent)
- Chartered status (CEng) or working toward it is highly desirable
- Significant experience operating at Senior or Principal level within a UK building services consultancy
- Proven experience delivering mechanical design for education, residential, and commercial sectors
- Strong understanding of UK building regulations, sustainable design, and low-carbon technologies
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills
