Construction Project Manager (permanent position) in Chertsey

Position: Construction Project Manager Office location: Chertsey, Surrey Salary/Package: £ competitive + car allowance and comprehensive package Target start date: October/November 2026 Skilled Careers contact:  Mark Dixon (Maidstone branch) The role: Due to continuous project awards across the South East the need has arisen to recruit for a Construction Project Manager to join a key project in the Chertsey area to support the existing project team in the delivery of refurbishment schemes. Key responsibilities: Full accountability for the safe, successful and profitable delivery of a external refurbishment redevelopment in a live operational environment. Leadership and management of the project team, supply chain and specialist subcontractors throughout all project phases. Ownership and control of the construction programme (Asta Power Projects), ensuring phased delivery, stakeholder coordination and uninterrupted club operations. Primary point of contact for the Client, consultants and key stakeholders, chairing progress meetings and producing project reports. Oversight of all construction activities including demolition, civils, structural alterations, extensions, external works and minor internal fit-out. Responsibility for project compliance with SHEQ requirements, driving safety culture, quality standards and environmental performance. Commercial and operational management of the project, ensuring programme, cost, quality and risk objectives are achieved. Coordination of design, logistics, temporary works, stakeholder interfaces and operational constraints associated with working in a live environment. Reporting directly to the visiting Contracts Manager and Operations Manager, providing regular updates on programme, risks, opportunities, commercial performance and project delivery. About You: A stable CV is required that demonstrates tenure within a main contractor An industry applicable Degree, HNC or NVQ equivalent is required Relevant H&S qualifications (SMSTS or IOSH, A relevant CSCS card and First Aid training) Working knowledge of Asta Power Projects would be an advantage. A commercial and contractual awareness balanced by excellent management skills Working knowledge of Microsoft packages Desire to understand and promote the company purpose, vision, values and culture Organised, structured and professional, with a passion for excellence Flexibility, resilience and the ability to influence and build relationships with key stakeholders The company: A Tier 2 main contractor with the team, infrastructure, pipeline and motivation to a be a Tier 1 in the near future.  This main contractor delivers refurbishment schemes across the UK awarded through Design & Build procurement routes for a host of clients and have primary focus on envelope refurbishment.  An excellent work winner and the future pipeline of work with new contracts flowing through constantly.
