Freelance Night Site Manager – Retail Fit Out
Location: Cheadle, Manchester
Contract: Freelance / Contract
Working Hours: Night shifts 19:00pm - 04:00am
Duration: 1 month

Rate: £350 - £400 per shift
We are looking for an experienced Freelance Site Manager to oversee night works on a fast-paced retail fit-out project. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the site during night shifts, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required programme and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Take overall responsibility for the site during night shifts.
- Manage subcontractors and site operatives, coordinating multiple trades.
- Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with the programme and project requirements.
- Maintain high standards of health & safety and ensure site rules are followed.
- Carry out regular site inspections and monitor workmanship.
- Coordinate deliveries, materials and site logistics as required.
- Liaise with the Project Manager and wider construction team to provide updates on progress.
- Complete daily site reports, including records of labour, progress, deliveries and any issues.
- Identify and resolve site issues promptly, escalating where necessary.
- Ensure the site is left safe, secure and clean at the end of each shift.
- Manage any out-of-hours issues that arise during the works.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Manager within retail fit-out or commercial construction.
- Previous experience managing night shifts is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of construction health & safety requirements.
- Ability to manage subcontractors and multiple trades effectively.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions confidently.
- Relevant CSCS, SMSTS and First Aid qualifications.
- A strong understanding of RAMS and site procedures.
- Retail fit-out experience would be a significant advantage.
