CDM Principal Designer – Central London – Fantastic Benefits – Hybrid – Competitive Salary Offered\\n\\nWe are currently working well established international engineering design consultancy that are leading the way in sustainable design within the built environment and energy transition sector.\\n\\nDue to several recent increase in workload, we are looking for an experienced CDM Principal Designer to join a very well-established and highly successful consultancy who are market leaders.\\n\\nRole Responsibilities\\n\\nThe Principal Designers role is to plan, manage and monitor the Pre-Construction phase, to co-ordinate Health & Safety. The Principal Designer must:\\n\\nFulfil the duties of the Principal Designer as defined under CDM 2015 including where necessary carrying out the role of CDM-Advisor to support the client.\\n\\t\\nEnsuring that multiple team members and duty holders such as the client, designers, contractors and other internal multidisciplinary team members coordinate and cooperate with each other and check that relevant duties are complied with.\\n\\t\\nAssist the client in identifying, obtaining and collating the pre-construction information\\n\\t\\nProvide pre-construction information to designers, the principal contractor and contractors\\n\\t\\nEnsure that designers comply with their duties and co-operate with each other\\n\\t\\nAssist client in validating health & safety credentials of contractors\\n\\t\\nUndertake safety by design review workshops\\n\\t\\nAttend client meetings during all phase of the project and advise the client and design team on Health & Safety guidelines.\\n\\t\\nGuide the Design team and client through Health & Safety requirement through all the relevant project phases including RIBA Stage\\n\\t\\nOrganise design risk workshops and review designers risk assessments\\n\\t\\nLiaise with client representatives, Principal Contractor and contractors with respect to health and safety\\n\\t\\nReview of Principal Contractors information, including:\\n\\nConstruction Phase Health & Safety plan\\n\\t\\t\\nPrepare the Health & Safety file\\n\\t\\t\\nSubmit F10 on behalf of client\\n\\t\\t\\nUndertake CDM site audits on behalf of client\\n\\t\\t\\nUndertake lessons learned workshops\\n\\t\\t\\nUndertake audits\\n\\t\\t\\nReview and identify surveys etc required.\\n\\nProduce and issue fee schedule and responsible for project reporting internally\\n\\t\\nResponsible for internal project reporting on progress, close out and supporting invoicing.\\n\\nRole Requirements\\n\\nAt least 5 years’ experience in a similar role with a focus on Construction Design Management\\n\\t\\nExperience working on projects largely led by MEP services\\n\\t\\nData Centre and/or large scale infrastructure project experience\\n\\t\\nISO standard knowledge and experience beneficial\\n\\t\\nStable career background\\n\\t\\nKnowledge of MEP building services would be useful\\n\\t\\nNEBOSH Diploma essential\\n\\t\\nExperience of construction site safety\\n\\t\\nIdeally to have experience of appropriate H&S procedures in an engineering consultancy environment in the construction sector and specifically relating to site visitors and professionals compared to contractors and site operatives.\\n\\t\\nIdeally to have working knowledge and experience of the UK Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and their applicability to design consultants in the built environment.\\n\\t\\nYou understand risk assessment and mitigation methods and ability to identify the most effective techniques and tools to use\\n\\t\\nExcellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and oral\\n\\t\\nExperience of having worked for an international consultancy (desirable)\\n\\t\\nSound knowledge & working application of key H&S issues and legislation\\n\\t\\nKnowledge of MS office applications word, excel etc.\\n\\t\\nGood understanding of British Standards\\n\\t\\nAbility to prioritise own workload and work to deadlines\\n\\t\\nAbility to manage multiple projects\\n\\t\\nPresentation and training skills\\n\\t\\nFluent English speaker (essential) with other language skills (desirable)\\n\\t\\nChairing/facilitation of meeting skills\\n\\t\\nKnowledge of Mechanical and Electrical building systems preferred\\n\\t\\nWorking knowledge of CDM, PUWER, COSHH, LOLER, MHSWR etc Regulations\\n\\t\\nAbility to co-ordinate with designers and contractors\\n\\t\\nDelivery of contract and program management – managing contractors’ progress, information, and document flow etc.\\n\\t\\nAbility to use IT based calculation and spreadsheet software\\n\\t\\nAct in an ethical manner and follows the principles of the Ethics Charter and Ethics in Practice Guidelines\\n\\t\\nBackground in consulting or construction preferred\\n\\t\\nGood understanding of H&S within an international business / consultancy\\n\\nBenefits\\n\\n23 days annual leave rising to 28 days annual leave over 5 years’ service\\n\\t\\nHoliday purchase and buy back scheme\\n\\t\\nHybrid Working\\n\\t\\nContributory company pension scheme\\n\\t\\nHealthcare Scheme via salary sacrifice (Company funded cover is dependent on level)\\n\\t\\nNon-contractual bonus awards\\n\\t\\nTraining sponsorship\\n\\t\\nCharity volunteering leave\\n\\t\\nWellness days/ initiatives\\n\\nFor more information regarding the above role, please contact Stephen Tiigah – (url removed)
