Position: Contracts Manager (progression role for a Site Manager looking to step up)

Location: Bromley, Kent

Region covered: inside the M25

Sector: Main contractor (new build and refurbishment)

Starting salary: £60,000 + car or allowance

The company: A well established main contractor based in Bromley with nearly 100 years trading history across London and an outstanding reputation for delivering quality projects across the new build, refurbishment, restorations and fit out sectors of the construction industry.

The role: As a Contracts Manager within this business you will be working under another Contracts Manager that will mentor you through your first year within the business. Engaging with projects at tender stage to create tender programmes using Asta or MS Project, answering PQQs, advising the precon team on buildability and meeting with clients. Resource planning for each of your schemes. Convert tender plans into construction programme (full lifecycle and short-term rolling). Manage 2-3 projects running concurrently across London (£500,000 - £8 million). Chairing monthly project review meetings (internal and external). Extensive engagement with external consultants and clients.

About you: This is an early stage Contracts Manager role and the ideal applicant will either be a Site Manager that has worked across more than 2-3 projects simultaneously & is looking for that next step in their career development. Someone with some Contracts Management experience and looking to work with a strong business that takes on interesting & varied projects in the London market.

Highly desirable skills:

  • Previous experience in a construction trade before you progressed into management.
  • Working knowledge of project programming software.
  • Experience of new build and refurbishment schemes.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills as this is a client facing role.
