An established and highly successful volume house builder is seeking an experienced Site Manager to take full responsibility for the delivery of a new 90-unit residential development in Bishop's Stortford. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven and quality-focused Site Manager to join a respected developer with a strong pipeline of projects across the region.
The Role
Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the development, ensuring homes are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Managing all on-site construction activities from groundworks through to completion
- Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, and site labour
- Driving build programmes and achieving key project milestones
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures
- Maintaining high standards of build quality and customer satisfaction
- Managing site logistics, materials, and resources effectively
- Conducting regular site inspections and quality checks
- Liaising with internal departments including Technical, Commercial, and Customer Care teams
- Producing site reports and attending progress meetings
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Manager within the volume housebuilding sector
- Track record of delivering residential developments from inception through to completion
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Excellent knowledge of NHBC standards and building regulations
- Ability to manage programmes, budgets, and subcontractor performance
- Strong communication and organisational skills
