Freelance M&E Quantity Surveyor
Location: Surrey (On-site – Army Barracks)
Duration: Minimum 6 Months
Rate: £390 per day (Umbrella PAYE)
We are currently recruiting for an experienced M&E Quantity Surveyor to join a major project based at an Army Barracks in Surrey. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in Mechanical & Electrical building services to work on a secure, long-term project.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the commercial aspects of M&E packages from procurement through to final account.
- Prepare and review valuations, variations, cost reports and forecasts.
- Assess subcontractor applications and manage payments.
- Identify and mitigate commercial risks while maximising project value.
- Support the Project Manager with commercial reporting and contractual matters.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with project procedures.
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors and the wider project team to ensure successful project delivery.
- Proven experience as an M&E Quantity Surveyor on commercial, industrial or public sector projects.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services.
- Experience managing subcontractor accounts, variations and final accounts.
- Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Relevant Quantity Surveying qualification or equivalent industry experience.
- £390 per day (Umbrella PAYE)
- Minimum 4 month contract
- On-site role based at an Army Barracks in Surrey.
