We’re representing a well-established, fast-growing main contractor with an outstanding reputation for delivering complex industrial and distribution schemes nationwide. With a strong pipeline of secured work in South Wales, they are looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to take the commercial lead on new build industrial projects in Newport.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for the full commercial lifecycle of large-scale industrial builds — from pre-construction through to final account — working closely with operational teams and clients to ensure successful financial delivery.
- Projects typically include:
- Large distribution centres
- Logistics hubs
- Manufacturing and warehouse facilities
Key Responsibilities
- Lead commercial management of new build industrial projects
- Procurement and management of subcontractor packages
- Cost planning, forecasting, and reporting
- Preparation and agreement of valuations and final accounts
- Contract administration (primarily JCT)
- Risk management and value engineering
- Mentoring junior members of the commercial team
About You
- Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment
- Strong background delivering new build industrial / logistics projects
- Excellent contractual knowledge (JCT essential)
- Commercially driven with strong negotiation skills
- Degree qualified (or equivalent experience) in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
- Able to manage projects independently and liaise confidently with clients
