Senior Technical Manager
Skilled Careers are currently partnered with an SME residential contractor who are actively recruiting for a Senior Technical Manager to oversee and manage live sites that consist of RC frame residential buildings. The Senior Technical Manager should have experience with this type of build and be able to lead the design program.
Location – Hertfordshire (Projects in London and surrounding areas)
Main Responsibilities/Duties Include:
- Agree appointment and scope of service for Design Team
- Review, comply and implement design management protocols
- Clear communication of expectations for design deliverables with designers
- Review compliance with Building regulations and other statutory regulations
- Provide quality control over design outputs and production
- Liaise with the Commercial Team for cost checking as design is developed
- Liaise with the operational teams regarding buildability and logistics
- Monitoring of design & resolution of technical queries
- Review design deliverables and progress against design programme
- Chairing design team meetings
- Review compliance of design against Employer\’s Requirements/ Specs/Contractors Proposals/Budget
- Review, assist and develop design, procurement and construction programmes
- Input into VE and design change
- Monitor design changes and change control
- Agree design changes with Client
- Any other reasonable management request
Required Skills:
- Able to programme design works
- Knowledge of methodology and sequencing process in delivering a construction project including design and pre-construction activities
- Understanding of design requirements for procurement and construction purposes
- Ability to negotiate, influence and communicate effectively with all those who have a stake in the work
- Understanding of contractual requirements of the contracts
- Understanding of and driving CDM in the project
- Ability to drive issues through to completion
