Air Conditioning Service ManagerLocation: StevenageSalary: £53,000-£60,000 DOE + Van or Car AllowanceAre you an experienced Air Conditioning professional ready to take the next step into a key leadership roleWe are looking for a technically strong and commercially minded Air Conditioning Service Manager to lead and develop a growing AC department based in Stevenage. This is a hands-on management role, giving you the opportunity to manage engineers, support technical delivery, oversee service and reactive works, and play a key part in the continued growth of the department.
The RoleYou will be responsible for managing and supporting a small team of Air Conditioning Engineers, ensuring service, PPM, reactive and remedial works are planned and delivered efficiently. Alongside the operational side of the role, you will also be involved in pricing, quotations, small works and larger project delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing, supporting and developing a team of AC EngineersProviding technical support and guidance on fault finding and complex issuesReviewing engineer reports and identifying remedial works and commercial opportunitiesManaging service, reactive, remedial and PPM worksMonitoring workloads and ensuring works are completed within agreed timescalesPricing and quoting for servicing, reactive works, remedials and small installationsSupporting the planning, costing and delivery of larger AC projectsCoordinating labour and subcontractors where requiredLiaising with suppliers and manufacturers regarding technical issues, parts and lead timesManaging service contracts and PPM requirementsSupporting recruitment, training and development as the department growsMaintaining strong client relationships and attending technical meetings when requiredHelping to improve processes, reporting, efficiency and profitabilityWhat We're Looking ForThe ideal candidate will come from a strong commercial air conditioning background and have previous experience as a Service Manager, Senior Engineer, Supervisor or similar .You will ideally have: Strong commercial air conditioning experienceExcellent technical knowledge of AC systems, servicing and fault findingExperience managing or supervising engineersExperience pricing service, remedial and small worksA good understanding of PPM contracts and service requirementsThe ability to interpret engineer reports and produce accurate quotationsCommercial awareness of labour, materials, margins and project costsStrong organisational and communication skillsKnowledge of relevant AC legislation, regulations and industry requirementsA full UK driving licenceExperience with major AC manufacturers, including Mitsubishi, would be advantageous.
