Skilled Careers is partnering with a Sussex based main contractor that has secured multiple refurbishment projects across Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire and Kent. Due to the increase in workload, it is now time to increase the size of their SHEQ team by recruiting a construction focused Quality Assurance Manager.

Base location: East Sussex

Contract type: Permanent

Salary: £ neg (DOE) package

The company: A Sussex based leading contractor that specialise in refurbishment contracts in occupied complexes across the East and West of the county.

The role: As Quality Assurance Manager, you will lead the implementation and oversight of the project quality assurance and control systems, ensuring that all works meet contractual, regulatory, and client expectations across multiple schemes. You will collaborate closely with construction, design, and supply chain teams to embed a culture of right-first-time delivery across all stages of the projects.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Quality Plan
  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards and company quality procedures
  • Manage inspection and test plans (ITPs) and quality records
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and supplier quality reviews
  • Provide quality-related training and support to site teams
  • Interface with client representatives and third-party stakeholders on quality matters
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the project lifecycle

About you and your skills:

  • Proven experience in a Quality Assurance Manager role within large-scale construction or infrastructure projects
  • Background with Tier 1 contractors or major projects is highly desirable
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO9001 and quality management systems
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
  • Relevant degree or professional qualification in construction, engineering or quality management
  • Practical application of WIRs, MIRs, ITPs/ITAPs
  • Construction quality assurance and inspection regimes
  • Regulatory compliance and audit processes
  • Experience managing large, complex supply chains and driving QA compliance
