About us: Skill Capital is an FCA-regulated firm founded in the late 1990s, originally backed by Soros Private Equity Partners (now TowerBrook). We work with the largest private equity investors in the world, including multi-strategy and pure-play PE funds, pension funds, family offices and sovereign wealth (e.g. Blackstone, KKR, CVC, ADIA, CPPIB etc.) Our services include, but are not limited to, deal sourcing, deal development and financing; commercial and human capital due diligence; and management team / board placement.
The firm’s workstreams are split into two main areas:
- On-market: Pre-deal advisory and angle generation: Identification of advisers for deal support, buy-in chairman/CEO identification, value creation plan development working with industrial advisers, transformative M&A planning.
- Off-market: Proprietary origination: Industry research, idea creation/development, strategy planning, value creation planning, LBO returns modelling, deal structuring, investment deck drafting and private capital sourcing.
The role: Researching industries, companies, management teams and private capital markets. Supporting the development of new long-term relationships with C-suite executives. Creating pitch documentation for high-quality private equity opportunities.
The person: Excellent degree in any academic subject from a strong university (e.g. finance, business, economics, engineering, history, languages, etc). Financially astute with experience working in a relevant industry (e.g. strategy consulting, investment banking / corporate finance or any relevant professional service). We are looking for someone who is high-energy, personable, collaborative and curious, with strong attention to detail, to join our highly entrepreneurial, supportive and close-knit team.
The process: 30 min first stage interview, 60 min final interview and case study.
