Position Responsibilities
- Creates and innovates with a strong conceptual design ability and integrates interdisciplinary criteria to effectively move the design of a project component(s) forward.
- Demonstrates an intermediate understanding of Interiors and Architectural building materials and finishes, building systems, specifications, current and applicable building and fire codes, design and detailing standards and construction techniques, and current market cost(s) costing trends.
- Able to enrich design concepts through technical strategies and effectively uses appropriate tools to research, design and document at all project phases.
- Demonstrates an intermediate knowledge of Interior Design and Interior Architecture including workplace planning and design concept development (hospitality and/or residential as applicable), design documentation, construction documentation, construction administration, and furniture (FF&E) and materials selection and specifications
- Manages time and workload to meet project task deadlines and commitments with periodic interaction and direction from project leaders while sharing knowledge with less experienced staff.
- Exhibits initiative, process innovation, problem solving, and decision quality with a high attention to precision and accuracy at a project component level.
- Actively collaborates at a project and consultant team level by critically and constructively evaluating ideas. Contributes to and actively participates within the studio.
Minimum Qualifications
- Completion of a professional degree in Interior Design, Architecture or a related field;
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience or equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Effectively communicates with the project team and consultants through timely and appropriate written, oral, and visual means.
- Knowledge of Finishes and Furniture and Fixtures (FF&E) and current industry standards/trends
- Ability to creatively communicate design through use of graphic software (Rhino, Enscape, Google Slides)
- Ability to assist in development of drawing packages on Revit
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Demonstrates proficiency in Rhino, Revit, AutoCAD, Enscape, VR, Adobe Suite, parametric and rendering software, and other graphic software.
- Actively implements BIM/CAD project standards and procedures.
