Job Overview:
As an Editorial Content Writer, you will be responsible for crafting compelling, well-researched, and engaging editorial and SEO content for a variety of channels, including blogs, websites, newsletters, and more. You'll play a key role in developing our content strategy, ensuring that all content aligns with the brand's voice, tone, and objectives while resonating with our target audience.

You should be a self-starter, detail-oriented, and have a passion for storytelling. Whether you're writing long-form articles, landing page content, or emails, your content will drive our brand forward and contribute to the overall success of our marketing and editorial efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research, write, and edit original content for various digital platforms, including websites, blogs, newsletters, and marketing collateral, both for B2C and B2B audiences
  • Produce written SEO content such as listicles, as well as pitch and write your own original content, spanning topics including clubs, gigs, festivals, comedy, theatre, food and drink, and more for our news page
  • Collaborate with the marketing, video, social media and design teams to ensure content supports business goals and enhances brand identity
  • Ensure all content is optimised for SEO, readability, and audience engagement
  • Proofread and edit content for grammar, spelling, clarity, brand tone of voice, and style consistency
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining a high standard of quality
  • Actively participate in brainstorming sessions, offering creative ideas for new content types and formats
  • Develop editorial calendars and content strategies in line with key initiatives and seasonal campaigns
  • Adhere to voice and style guides to ensure consistency across all content
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, topics, and competitor activities to create relevant and timely content
  • Use analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, social media insights) to track the performance of content and adapt strategies for better engagement

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a content writer, copywriter, or editorial content creator
  • Strong portfolio of writing samples that demonstrate versatility and creativity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for detail
  • Ability to research and understand complex topics and present them in a clear, engaging, and accessible manner
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices and experience with optimising web content
  • Familiarity with content management systems (e.g. WordPress, HubSpot) and social media platforms
  • Proficiency in using content creation and editing tools (e.g. Google Docs, Grammarly, basic Photoshop skills or similar)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment
  • A passion for storytelling, creativity, and digital media

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with multimedia content (e.g., video, podcasting, infographics) is a plus
  • Confidence in presenting/ being on camera is a plus
  • Familiarity with analytics platforms and tools like Google Analytics, SEMrush, or similar tools
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a related field is a plus, but not essential
