We are looking for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer with Electrical bias in Clevedon for the Aerospace Division at SKF (U.K.) Limited. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing maintenance, and improving a broad range of production machinery, including CNC lathes, milling machines, and grinders. The position involves ongoing operational support and responding to maintenance-related requests across the facility.
Your daily tasks include:
- Carrying out Preventative Maintenance in accordance with schedules
- Resolving breakdowns
- Fault finding to the cause of failures
- Sourcing and purchasing spares
- Carrying out both electrical and mechanical maintenance tasks
- Testing & inspecting electrical installations
- Communicating with operators, managers, engineers, and contractors
- Supporting, creating, and implementing new ways of working and good working practices
- Building a continuous improvement culture
- Supporting supplier and subcontractor development, where applicable
- Running operations according to the SKF Code of Conduct, Environment Health & Safety (EHS) and Quality Policies, and working according to the SKF Quality Management System
Requirements:
- Industry-recognized training — completed an apprenticeship and hold qualifications such as City & Guilds, NVQ, BTEC, HNC or HND.
- CNC environment experience — comfortable working with CNC machinery and production processes.
- Good maintenance practices — solid understanding of effective engineering and maintenance standards.
- Self-motivated working style — able to take initiative and work on your own when needed.
- Flexible team support — willing to work overtime occasionally and assist a small team.
Your skills:
- Effective communication skills — ability to collaborate effectively and share information clearly with colleagues across the team.
- Solid electrical skills — confidence in working with electrical systems and solving related technical challenges.
- Applied mechatronics knowledge — practical understanding of integrated mechanical and electronic systems.
- Good grasp of preventative maintenance — familiarity with maintenance practices that help keep equipment reliable and operating properly.
This position is based in Clevedon, UK, and reports to the Maintenance Manager. The compensation offered for this role reflects the scope of responsibilities and required skills, with a proposed salary of £45,000-£50,000 per year. This role operates on a 2-week rotating shift pattern:
- Early Shift: Mon–Thu 05:50–14:00, Fri 05:50–11:20
- Late Shift: Mon–Thu 13:50–22:00, Fri 11:10–16:40
