We are looking for a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer with an electrical focus to support the Aerospace Division at SKF Clevedon (U.K.).

Location: Clevedon, UK

Reporting to: Maintenance Manager, Mike Brown

Compensation: £45,000–£50,000 per year

Shift pattern: 2‑week rotating shift (Early Shift Mon–Thu 05:50–14:00, Fri 05:50–11:20; Late Shift Mon–Thu 13:50–22:00, Fri 11:10–16:40)

Your daily tasks:

  • Carry out preventative maintenance according to schedule
  • Resolve breakdowns
  • Fault find to the cause of failures
  • Source and purchase spares
  • Carry out both electrical and mechanical maintenance tasks
  • Test & inspect electrical installations
  • Communicate with operators, managers, engineers and contractors
  • Take part in supporting, creating and implementing new ways of working and good working practices
  • Build a continuous improvement culture
  • Support supplier and subcontractor development, where applicable
  • Run operations in accordance with SKF Code of Conduct, EHS and Quality Policies and use SKF Quality Management System

Requirements:

  • Industry‑recognized training – completed an apprenticeship and hold qualifications such as City & Guilds, NVQ, BTEC, HNC or HND
  • Experience in a CNC environment – comfortable working with CNC machinery and production processes
  • Good maintenance practices – solid understanding of effective engineering and maintenance standards
  • Self‑motivated working style – able to take initiative and work independently
  • Flexible team support – willing to work overtime occasionally and assist a small team

  • Effective communication – ability to collaborate and share information clearly with colleagues across the team
  • Solid electrical skills – confidence in working with electrical systems and solving related technical challenges
  • Applied mechatronics knowledge – practical understanding of integrated mechanical and electronic systems
  • Good grasp of preventative maintenance – familiarity with maintenance practices that keep equipment reliable and operating properly
