We are a small local nursery based in Rugby, providing high quality care for children aged from 2 years to school age. We support families in nurturing children who are happy, confident, inquisitive and enthusiastic about life and the experiences they encounter.

Humpty Dumpty Nursery, located in the heart of Bilton Village, situated within the grounds of Bilton Infant school, is looking for a new member to join their small, friendly and experienced team. If you hold a Level 2 Early Years qualification and/or have previous nursery experience we would love to hear from you.

The role will include being a key person for a small group of children. You will be expected to have a good understanding of safeguarding and will need to follow all policies and procedures, to ensure standards are kept to a high level.

The ideal candidate will need the following qualifications, skills and attributes:

  • Clear understanding of child development
  • Trustworthy
  • Kind, gentle and patient
  • An understanding of the EYFS
  • Can interact with children, follow their lead but know when adult input is appropriate
  • The ability to drink pretend tea and eat pretend pizza multiple times a day
  • To always warmly welcome children and families into the setting

Hours of work: Mon - Fri 8.30 am to 5.30 pm on a rota basis, 25 hours per week

Pay rate: National Minimum Wage for Apprentices: £7.55 per hour.

Entry requirements:

  • Candidates will already hold NNEB/NVQ Level 2 or equivalent or have knowledge of the Early Years foundations.
  • GCSE level 4 (C) or above in English and Maths.
  • Must have an understanding of safeguarding.

Training to be Provided: Early Years Educator Apprenticeship - Level 3. You will be supported by an assessor throughout your apprenticeship. As you progress through your apprenticeship your duties and responsibilities will alter as you develop the skills for a successful career in childcare.

Things to consider: This is a physical and active role and you will need to be alert and have the ability to get involved. If you are a successful candidate, an enhanced DBS check will be completed.

Future Prospects: Upon successful completion of your level 3 apprenticeship there will be the opportunity for permanent employment.
