Pre-School Nursery based in Oxfordshire for children aged 2 to 5 years. Further your early years career with this fantastic opportunity working for Horspath Pre-School Nursery, which is located in the grounds of Horspath Primary School and has its own well-equipped outside play area and nature reserve.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the nursery is a safe environment for children, staff, and others, maintaining high standards of hygiene and implementing safety procedures at all times.
  • Foster positive interactions between children of varied ages attending the nursery.
  • Contribute to planning in accordance with the EYFS, providing a stimulating range of age-appropriate activities, and ensuring the nursery is well-resourced and creatively set up.
  • Lead observations and assessments of children's learning and development, keeping records up-to-date and of a high standard, including Individual Education Plans for children with Special Educational Needs.
  • Keep the Early Years Tracking Tool updated and analyse data alongside the Manager.
  • Work in partnership with parents/carers, building and maintaining relationships that encourage trust, open communication, and involvement in nursery life.
  • Support colleagues as part of the larger team to ensure the smooth running of the nursery.
  • Define and uphold the vision and values of the nursery, ensuring these are understood and embodied by all staff members.
  • Adhere to nursery policies and procedures, including Safeguarding and whistleblowing.
  • Maintain awareness of personal development and training needs, keeping up-to-date with current legislation and practice.
  • As a qualified First Aider, administer first aid and medication as required and ensure appropriate records are completed.
  • Attend reasonable out-of-working-hours activities, including training, staff meetings, committee meetings, and special events.
  • Be involved in the breakfast/afterschool club and the playscheme during holidays.

Entry Requirements:

  • Level 3 in Early Years/Childcare.
  • Maths & English GCSE at grade C/4 (or equivalent) desired but not essential.
  • Relevant experience working within a nursery setting.

Training to be provided: Functional Skills Maths & English if required.
