We are looking for a motivated and reliable Plumbing Apprentice to join our team. This role offers hands-on training alongside experienced plumbers, providing the opportunity to develop practical skills and gain industry-recognised qualifications. Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you’ll do at work:

  • Assist qualified plumbers with installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems
  • Learn to work with pipework, drainage systems, heating systems, and sanitary fixtures
  • Prepare tools, materials, and work areas for plumbing projects
  • Follow health and safety procedures at all times
  • Support fault-finding and basic repair tasks under supervision
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment
  • Attend college or training courses as required

Entry requirements:

3 GCSEs A*-C/9-4 to include maths and English or equivalent.

Training to be provided:

You will attend Carshalton College for your college apprenticeship 1 day per week. During your apprenticeship you will cover the following units:

  • Design Systems
  • Maintain effective operation of system
  • Maintain a safe working environment
  • Quality development and improvement
  • Install, service and maintain complex systems
  • Maintain effective working relationships
  • Water regulations
  • Unvented systems

By the end of this apprenticeship you will have satisfied the requirements for registration as EngTech by the Engineering Council through The Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering (CIPHE) and/or The Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE). On completion of the health and safety assessment, as determined by the assessment plan, the candidate will have satisfied the requirements to obtain a Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) Card through the Joint Industry Board for Plumbing and Mechanical Engineering Services (JIB-PMES) at the appropriate grade.
