Welcome to Alcatel Submarine Networks, a global leader in submarine optical systems. Since 1994, we have been committed to manufacturing, installing, and maintaining advanced submarine cables and equipment. We are now looking for a content creator apprentice to support the digital content creation of the training school.

OVERALL OBJECTIVE OF THE JOB

To support the digital content creation of the training school, ensuring high-quality, accessible, and engaging learning materials are available for all training programmes. The apprentice will work closely with the Digital Specialist, training team, and business leaders, while exploring AI tools to streamline processes. Additionally, the apprentice will complete the Level 3 Content Curation Apprenticeship.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Content Organisation: Ensure all training content is up-to-date, compliant, and aligned with ASN and industry standards. Work with Training Advisors and Coordinators to identify content gaps and opportunities. Support EDI initiatives by curating relevant resources for diverse audiences. Gather information and approval of content from internal SMEs.
  • Compliance: Assist in auditing content for compliance with ASN and industry standards. Track and report on content usage and effectiveness using tools like Papaya LMS and Tableau.

RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTONOMY

  • Content Creation Support: Assist in creating and editing basic digital content (e.g., quizzes, PDFs, infographics) using tools like Captivate Pro, Articulate and AI-assisted platforms. Support the migration of legacy content to modern formats (e.g., SCORM, interactive modules).
  • AI and Efficiency: Explore and recommend AI tools (e.g., chatbots, automation) to improve content curation efficiency. Document processes for using AI in content management.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above (Essential)
  • Basic understanding of digital content formats (e.g., PDF, video, SCORM) (Essential)
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail (Essential)
  • Interest in AI and digital tools for education (Essential)
  • Passion for all things digital (Desirable)
  • Enrolled in a Level 3 Content Curation Apprenticeship (Content Creator / Skills England)
  • On-the-job training with the Digital Specialist and training team
  • Access to internal training programmes (e.g., AI tools, Papaya LMS, Tableau for data tracking)

  • Documentation of AI tools and processes for content management is completed and shared with the team
  • 100% compliance with content audits and industry standards
  • Successful completion of the Level 3 Content Curation Apprenticeship within the agreed timeline
  • Contribution to 2+ AI-driven efficiency improvements in content curation processes

TRAINING TO BE PROVIDED

You will complete the Content Creator Level 3 Apprenticeship with Creative Alliance. Training will include on-the-job and off-the-job learning to build skills in creating content for different audiences/channels, planning and producing content to a brief, brand/tone of voice, accessibility and inclusive communication, measuring performance, and safe/professional digital practice. Apprentices learn the skills they need on the job with the guidance of a development coach who is an expert from industry. You will finish your apprenticeship with a recognised qualification, valuable industry experience and the opportunity for continued career progression. Training is a blended learning delivery model: online learning, classroom sessions, work-based training, independent research, workplace projects, one-to-one support and training.
