As our Apprentice your responsibilities include learning and developing practical skills, participating in workshops on and offsite, observing all health and safety codes, completing tests and assignments. You should be well‑organised, flexible, and willing to assist wherever possible because you will be required to support climbers to ensure safe, efficient, and high quality tree surgery operations.
The role of Apprentice Groundsman means you will be expected to help deliver great customer care and apply yourself diligently to your academic obligations. To be successful, you must have great time management skills and be willing to fit into the existing staff structure. Outstanding Apprentices are those who respond well to constructive feedback, build good relationships with colleagues, and ultimately make a lasting impression.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in delivering high quality and safe tree surgery service, stump grinding and other related tasks.
- To be part of a team of tree surgeons and ground staff to complete tree surgery operations safely and to high standard every time.
- Complete maintenance checks on works vehicles
- Undertake health and safety work programmes, as agreed with the Operations manager / Company Director and in line with industry best practice.
- Manage our company resources in an effective manner, contributing to the financial efficiencies of the company
- Demonstrate commitment to continuous professional development, by participating in career development opportunities and keeping up to date with changes in best practice within Arboriculture.
- Ensure to maintain personal and occupational development with industry relevant qualifications as required by job
- Ensure all information relating to the Company and its clients is managed confidentially and in line with relevant information governance legal requirements and ensures information and data is dealt with legally, securely, efficiently, and effectively
- Any other roles and responsibilities as required by us and commensurate with the role.
