The Assistant Store Manager position is critical to our success, providing support to the Management Team in all areas of operational management and team leadership. Based in the heart of Aberdeen at our Skechers store in Union Square, one of Scotland's leading retail and leisure destinations, you'll play a key role in driving store performance and delivering an exceptional customer experience. You'll drive the store's daily performance, inspire and develop your team, and ensure seamless customer service delivery. By managing inventory, enhancing visual merchandising, and implementing commercial initiatives, you'll directly contribute to the store's profitability and overall success.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
- Previous experience in an Assistant Store Manager or similar role within a retail environment
- Strong organisational skills to manage inventory and operational tasks effectively
- Experience driving sales performance, delivering results, and meeting targets
- Highly organised with the ability to manage inventory, staff scheduling, and other operational tasks
- The ability to lead and motivate a team
- Strong commercial awareness and sales skills to drive growth and achieve targets
- Able to create a positive, collaborative team environment that fosters teamwork and colleague engagement
- An ability to create a respectful, inclusive, and safe work environment for colleagues and customers
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills to foster collaboration and success
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and public holidays as required
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Team Leadership: Mentor, coach, and motivate colleagues to achieve sales targets, deliver outstanding customer service, and foster a positive work environment
- Visual Merchandising: Act as a brand ambassador by ensuring product displays and store layouts meet Skechers' high standards for style and innovation
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, manage replenishment processes, and organise the shop floor to create a seamless shopping experience
- Operational Management: Oversee store systems, including scheduling, opening and closing procedures, and operational processes. Support peak trading periods by occasionally lifting and moving boxes
- Commercial Performance: Drive sales growth by implementing performance strategies, setting expectations, and exceeding sales targets
- Problem Solving: Proactively address operational challenges and resolve customer concerns to maintain customer satisfaction
