Location: West Bromwich, West Midlands

Salary: £16.00 - £17.00 per hour DOE

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 6:00pm

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

We are currently recruiting for a GPhC-registered Accredited Checking Technician (ACT) to join a well-established community pharmacy based in West Bromwich. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced ACT looking to join a professional and patient-focused pharmacy team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out final accuracy checks on dispensed prescriptions, supporting dispensary operations, and ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform final accuracy checking of dispensed prescriptions in line with ACT accreditation.
  • Ensure the safe, accurate, and timely supply of medicines.
  • Support the day-to-day running of the dispensary.
  • Maintain compliance with GPhC standards, SOPs, NHS requirements, and pharmacy regulations.
  • Resolve prescription queries and liaise with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Assist with prescription workflow management and dispensary efficiency.
  • Support stock control, ordering, and inventory management.
  • Maintain accurate Controlled Drug records and procedures.
  • Assist with audits, quality initiatives, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Mentor and support dispensary staff where required.

Essential Requirements

  • Accredited Checking Technician (ACT) qualification.
  • Current GPhC registration.
  • Previous experience within a community pharmacy environment.
  • Strong understanding of pharmacy dispensing procedures and regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a busy dispensary environment.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience using pharmacy PMR systems.
  • Knowledge of NHS pharmacy services.
  • Previous supervisory or mentoring experience.
  • Experience supporting workflow improvements and dispensary efficiencies.
