We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of a GMP-regulated manufacturing and distribution facility. Reporting into the UK Managing Director, you will have overall responsibility for site operations, ensuring production activities are delivered safely, efficiently and in full compliance with regulatory requirements. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring close collaboration with Production, Quality and Technical teams, whilst maintaining oversight of site performance, people management, compliance and continuous improvement activities.

The successful candidate will be comfortable operating within a regulated environment and have previous experience managing manufacturing operations, driving performance and leading teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take overall responsibility for the operational performance of the site.
  • Ensure manufacturing activities are carried out in accordance with GMP requirements and internal procedures.
  • Provide leadership and direction to Production, Technical and operational support teams.
  • Work closely with the Production Manager to ensure production plans are achieved whilst maintaining quality and compliance standards.
  • Monitor site KPIs, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions where required.
  • Lead investigations relating to deviations, non-conformances and operational issues, ensuring effective CAPAs are implemented.
  • Ensure the site remains inspection-ready and fully compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage operational budgets, resource planning and site efficiencies.
  • Support and drive continuous improvement projects across manufacturing, warehousing and operational processes.
  • Oversee stock control, material movements, reconciliation activities and inventory accuracy.
  • Ensure health and safety standards are maintained across all areas of the facility.
  • Act as a key point of contact during customer audits, supplier visits and regulatory inspections.
  • Support employee development, performance management and succession planning activities.
Experience Required
  • Previous experience in an Operations Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Site Manager or similar leadership role.
  • Background within pharmaceuticals, healthcare, medical devices, life sciences or another GMP-regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of GMP requirements and quality systems.
  • Experience managing audits, inspections, investigations, CAPAs and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop operational teams.
  • Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets, productivity and operational performance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with Quality, Technical, Supply Chain and Senior Leadership teams.
