We are seeking a skilled Architectural Technician with proven expertise in Scottish Building Regulations to join our dynamic team on a flexible, part-time to full-time basis. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who can work independently and collaboratively, supporting a variety of residential and commercial projects across Scotland.
You will work alongside the architect and be involved in client meetings, site visits, carrying out surveys and preparing drawings of existing buildings and technical drawings for building warrants. Working on a variety of projects of various scales, from large home extensions to internal house alterations, commercial conversions, and commercial fit outs, you will be involved in all stages and working on your own as well as part of our small team. The role is based in Glasgow and is temporary, you will start immediately from the first week of June for approximately 3 months at the moment but could be extended.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare detailed technical drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
- Ensure designs and documentation are fully compliant with current Scottish Building Regulations.
- Liaise with clients, local authorities, and consultants throughout project stages.
- Support planning applications, building warrant submissions, and site inspections.
- Assist in project coordination from concept through to completion.
- Proven experience as an Architectural Technician or similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of current Scottish Building Regulations and standards.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Sketch-Up /Photoshop would be desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage time effectively in a flexible working environment.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Flexible working hours (16–35 hours per week, depending on your availability).
- Salary rate is negotiable, depending on experience.
