We are passionate about our mission to "Save Lives" and we are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Global Electrical Safety Manager to help us champion electrical safety worldwide.
Role Overview
The Global Electrical Safety Manager will play a critical role in building and leading Skanwear’s global electrical safety initiatives. This individual will be at the forefront of fostering collaboration across industry professionals, regulatory bodies, and solution providers while providing expert guidance to customers on enhancing their electrical safety programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Community Leadership: Develop and lead a global electrical safety hub, bringing together industry professionals, customers, and solution providers to collaborate, innovate, and share best practices.
- Advisory Expertise: Offer trusted, impartial advice to customers, helping them improve their electrical safety programs through deep technical knowledge and alignment with industry best practices.
- Strategic Partnerships: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the electrical safety ecosystem, including regulatory bodies, industry experts, and solution providers (e.g., OEMs, O&Ms, training providers).
- Thought Leadership: Represent Skanwear as a thought leader through active participation in industry events; including the organising and hosting of our world renowned Global Electrical Safety Conferences. You will be involved in authoring publications/white papers, hosting webinars, and engaging with our customer community, all while promoting our "You Ask, We Tell" strategy.
- Customer Engagement: Serve as a direct point of contact for customers seeking guidance on electrical safety, delivering tailored, actionable solutions that address their unique challenges and support their safety goals.
- Mission Alignment: Ensure all initiatives align with Skanwear’s "Saving Lives" mission, prioritising measurable improvements in electrical safety outcomes worldwide.
Minimum Requirements
The ideal candidate must possess comprehensive expertise in electrical safety, including but not limited to:
- Thorough understanding of arc flash risks, their causes, and their impact on personnel and equipment.
- Familiarity with methods to mitigate arc flash risks, including PPE solutions, electrical design, and engineering controls.
- Knowledge of how to conduct and interpret arc flash risk assessments in compliance with global standards.
- Electrical Safety Standards & Regulations: A knowledge and understanding of international standards and guidelines, including but not limited to: NFPA 70E (USA), IEEE 1584, OSHA (USA), ANSI/IEEE C2, various EU Directives relating to Electrical Safety, UK Electricity at Work Act 1989 and relevant BS standards.
- Electrical Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with low, medium, and high-voltage electrical systems and associated risks.
- Hazard Analysis & Risk Mitigation: Expertise in conducting electrical hazard assessments, including task-based risk analysis.
- Industry Innovations & Trends: Up-to-date knowledge of the latest technologies, tools, and methods to improve electrical safety.
- Training & Communication: Strong ability to educate and train diverse audiences on electrical safety principles and practices.
