Skanska, one of the world’s leading project development and construction groups, is an inclusive and responsible business that is helping to build a better society. We are looking for a Senior Buyer to join our Procurement team in Wolverhampton.
What you’ll do:
- To seek sustainable methods of cost reduction and value generation for materials and plant supplied to Skanska.
- To introduce and lead service level agreements with suppliers and internal departments.
- To develop and implement strategic procedural and practical changes to increase productivity and performance, including the leading of KPI’s with the supply chain.
- To comply with Skanska Procedures and policy on procurement including participation in Audits (Internal/External).
- Tenders – Management of all associated documentation for major materials and plant procurement exercises.
- Review of Sub-Contract and Material quotations and subsequent recommendations.
- Negotiation with suppliers and raising of orders ensuring relevant technical and commercial clauses are included.
What you’ll bring to the role:
- Experience of procurement in construction industry.
- Technical knowledge of relevant product markets.
- Working knowledge of NEC.
- Experience of negotiating with suppliers and sub‑contractors.
- Experience of ERP systems.
- Familiarity with qualitative procurement methods.
