We are currently looking for a Preconstruction Director who will support us in growing our business.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver a sustainable, profitable pipeline aligned with BU/OU and sector work‑winning strategies.
  • Lead a customer‑centric approach to strategic engagement and bid selection that supports long‑term business goals.
  • Improve preconstruction efficiency, ensuring opportunities follow clear commercial win strategies that deliver predictable, profitable, and sustainable outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Skanska UK operating units in the UK and internationally to improve pipeline visibility, support international customers, and shape group‑wide preconstruction and business development strategy.
  • Oversee bid governance at group and OU level, maintaining strong commercial control and alignment with OU bid budgets.
  • Ensure a visible pipeline and appropriate resource allocation through effective cross‑BU collaboration.
  • Embed BU systems and processes, including Governance, Salesforce, Key Account Management, Customer Insights, and Measurement.
  • Maintain commercial discipline, ensuring revenue pressure never leads to unprofitable or unsustainable business.
Qualifications
  • Understanding of procurement processes, practices and legislation, and construction law where relevant.
  • Experience and demonstrable business development experience in the UK piling, ground engineering and civil engineering market.
  • Ability to identify, tender and secure a financially successful project.
  • Evidence of commercial acumen where the right deal has been secured.
