The Motor Transport Department (MT) provides a vital role in support of the UK’s Principal Military Headquarters at Northwood HQ. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Driver to portray a professional image in delivering a first-class service to both military and civil servants.
Responsibilities
- Drive a variety of vehicles within the pool, ranging from cars to minibuses.
- Provide services in accordance with both MoD and civilian regulations.
- Complete first line maintenance and checks in accordance with vehicle specifications and requirements.
- Valeting and preparation of vehicles when not on driving duties.
As part of the Driver Team at Northwood HQ, your standard working hours are organised according to a 12 week shift pattern which will require you to work 1 Saturday and 1 Sunday within this period. Ideally reside within 30 minutes travel time to Northwood HQ.
We’re looking for
- Ability to obtain security clearance to ‘SC’ level. To obtain clearance, the successful candidate will have been a resident in the UK for the past 5 years.
- If the successful candidate does not hold the relevant licence (D or D1 without “101” restriction or CPC), Skanska will look to support obtaining these within an agreed timescale.
- Driver CPC Qualification card.
- Driver Tachograph Card.
- Professional driving experience.
- Experience working in a transport environment.
- Extensive knowledge of driving regulations and drivers hours regulations.
This role requires a minimum level of security clearance and may also require a higher level of National Security Vetting. You should be aware that certain levels of clearance or specific projects and/or sites have UK residency requirements; and any dual or multiple nationalities must be declared. Any persons who do not fulfil these residency requirements may be unable to obtain the required level of clearance and would not be eligible to undertake this role.
