We are looking for a Materials Engineer to join our Infrastructure team in Norwich. The purpose of this role is to support Skanska RDP A47 Thickthorn project near Norwich. Ensuring the testing conducted follows the contract, materials sources are identified and to support the site team to deliver a successful compliant project.
What you'll do:
- Identify scope for betterment to clientβs specifications.
- Review and oversee management of construction materials testing to meet project specific Appendix 1/5.
- Advise the engineering team of materials that can and cannot be used according to the Appendix 1/5.
- Continuous engagement with 3rd party laboratories, to ensure the successful delivery of the Materials testing subcontract.
- Continuous engagement with the engineering team to ensure the appropriate materials testing is carried out in line with the programme of works.
What you'll bring to the role:
- Degree or alternative higher education qualification in Civil Engineering or considerable time served in a similar role.
- Knowledge and experience in the application of relevant industry specifications, such as The Specification for Highway Works.
- Conversant in relevant British and European standards.
