We are looking for a Construction Manager (Facades) to join our Building Operating Unit working on a £100m commercial building in Westminster area. This role will support the delivery of the project in accordance with company procedures, programme requirements and project specifications.

Efficiently and professionally supporting the supervision of site works for the façade packages (traditional handset stone, brickwork, fire rated curtain wall atrium, mansard roof and inverted flat roof) subcontract packages.

What you'll do:

  • Manage & support the project team in ensuring sub-contractors adhere to the strict Environmental, Health & Safety standards that Skanska expect.
  • Take a lead in carrying out audits/ review of works on site with the Skanska HSE team.
  • Manage the supervision and coordination of sub-contractors, labour and material requirements for the contract.
  • Ensure that operatives/ subcontractor are working to the latest programme of works and methods statements.
  • Reporting of all the site operations to the senior project management through but not limited to daily diaries, weekly reports etc…
  • Ability to develop a good working relationship with the client team, sub-contractors, consultants, and external parties to ensure the successful execution of the project.
  • Ensure that all personnel for whom they are responsible are aware of the Environmental, Health & Safety procedures and implement the relevant requirements.
  • Ensure all works are carried out with statutory regulations, current standards and company quality assurance procedures.
  • Identification, registration and rectification of non-conformances and defects resulting from regular inspections and accurate record keeping.
  • Reporting of all the site operations to the senior project management through but not limited to daily diaries, weekly reports and package meetings.

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Have extensive site based managerial experience.
  • Thorough understanding of the construction process / sequence, providing innovative solutions.
  • Have working knowledge of the Health and Safety, Environmental (HSE) standards expected on site and ability to manage HSE requirements on site.
  • Be in possession of a current Managers’ CSCS card and other relevant qualifications, such as SMSTS.
  • Have an understanding and awareness (and management of) commercial items relevant to the project.
  • Working towards or already Chartered with a professional body (eg CIOB).
  • Must be able to work as part of a large team on complex projects.
