Description and requirements

Skanska, one of the world's leading project development and construction groups, is an inclusive and responsible business that is helping to build a better society. Based in Doncaster, our Bentley Works Facility provides a huge range of manufacturing, engineering and maintenance services, using specialist equipment and precision tooling. The facility provides the main hub for our internal piling and foundation equipment.

We are looking for an Assistant Buyer to join our Cementation team in Doncaster.

What you'll do:

  • Support and assist the procurement function in the negotiation and placing of material, services, and plant orders against operational and business requirements, including collation of contractual documentation, following Skanska's procurement processes and maintenance of procurement administration and records.
  • Assist and where required lead tender activities, collaborate with internal functions and meet bid deadlines.
  • Assist procurement function to minimise the cost of plant, materials and services while supporting a safe and sustainable supply chain.
  • Support negotiations with suppliers and raise orders ensuring relevant technical and commercial clauses are included.
