Overview
Skanska Building Services, a leading project development and construction group, is seeking an experienced Construction Manager (Mechanical Bias) to lead lifecycle and capital works on a prestigious Ministry of Defence site in Westminster. This is a full-time, site-based role on a long-term PFI contract where Skanska provides Hard FM services.
What you’ll do
- Coordinate trade contractors to ensure all works are delivered safely, to specification, on time, and to a high quality standard
- Act as a key liaison between stakeholders including the Client, Designers, Consultants, Trade Contractors, and Operations Teams
- Uphold Skanska\\\’s Our Way of Working standards, ensuring Health, Safety, and Welfare procedures are consistently implemented—this includes managing site inductions, toolbox talks, pre-task briefings, and inspections
- Ensure all installations are completed in line with contract scope, technical drawings, building regulations, JSPs, and company QA procedures
- Conduct regular inspections to monitor the quality and workmanship of installations
What you’ll bring to the role
- Proven experience in a mechanical-biased construction role, ideally within Building Services or FM capital works
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety, ideally holding SMSTS or equivalent
- CSCS card required
- Eligibility to obtain DV (Developed Vetting) Security Clearance – applicants must be UK citizens and have resided in the UK for the past 10 years due to the security requirements of the site
This role requires a minimum level of security clearance and may also require a higher level of National Security Vetting. You should be aware that certain levels of clearance or specific projects and/or sites have UK residency requirements; and any dual or multiple nationalities must be declared. Any persons who do not fulfil these residency requirements may be unable to obtain the required level of clearance and would not be eligible to undertake this role
