We are looking for a Senior Design Manager (Defence) to join our Building Operating Unit. This individual will lead and manage the design process, design management team and multi-disciplinary design team on a project, from enquiry through to submission of the bid, PCSA stage and the ongoing management of all design related issues through construction to project completion and handover.
What you'll do:
- Assist in appointment of design team and management of design team contracts to cost, time, quality & safety requirements.
- Manage the creation of the project design management plan and ensure all members of the design team are aware of their responsibilities.
- Manage the production and co-ordination of the design programme, Employers Requirements and design deliverables schedule throughout the project.
- Manage the delivery of design in accordance with the design management plan and design brief, including client requirements, cost, programme, best practice design standards, design responsibilities, BIM strategy and contract agreement.
- Chair Design team meetings and other design orientated meetings.
- Ensure clear record keeping and monitoring of design process/programme/deliverables.
What you'll bring to the role:
- Demonstratable experience of delivering MOD/DIO/USVF projects working through bid, PCSA and delivery stages.
- Clear understanding of and demonstrable experience of working with the MOD/DIO/USVF, including a working knowledge of defence JSP standards.
- Demonstrable experience of design delivery – building, civil engineering & MEP installations.
- Ability and willingness to obtain security clearance to required level if security clearance if not already held.
- Ability and willingness to work on project delivery across a wide geography covering the Midlands and South of England.
