Description
We are looking for an Assistant Design Manager to join our Infrastructure team located in Bedford. As the Assistant Design Manager, you will be accountable for the design management of work packages allocated to you and their delivery to the agreed plan.
What you\\\βll do
- Performance of your design team / package such that the deliverables are the right quality and on time.
- Programme updated as per contract
- Procedures, processes, controls, governance and workflows as set out in the Design Management Plan are adhered to.
- Coordination and integration of design ensuring good, clear communication is maintained between the various parties throughout the engagement
- Ensure scope, deliverables, outputs and formats are clear with the parties, and have an understanding of the responsibilities, outputs and deliverables set out in the Design Responsibility Matrix
- Within your package work with the commercial and project team to ensure change is managed and coordinated both technically and for programme and cost
- Organise or contribute to both weekly design meetings and weekly design management meetings, each with an agenda, minutes with actions
What you\\\βll bring to the role
- Contractor, Designer or Client experience of projects of similar type, scale and complexity
- Working towards professional qualification
- Professional qualification
- Relevant degree (or similar) in the technical discipline being managed e.g. Civil engineering, Building, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering
- Experience in working with consultants, architects, designers
- Experience in working with a broad range of stakeholders β Statutory Authorities, Local Authorities, Transport for London, Network Rail, HS2 Ltd, National Highways
- CSCS Card in suitable category (e.g. Professionally qualified Person or Manager)
