Skanska, one of the world’s leading project development and construction groups, is an inclusive and responsible business that is helping to build a better society. We are looking for a Senior Design Manager to join our infrastructure team in Leavesden, Hertfordshire, to join our Energy Sector.
What you'll do:
- Accountable for the management of the design process for the project from preparation of the design scope with our design partner.
- Ensure design teams’ activities are planned and programmed collaboratively so they integrate with our project’s programmed activities.
- Setup and maintain the design management plans, tools and processes for the project.
- Work with the Construction Lead to deliver a design aligned with the Construction requirements.
- This will include the management of sub-contractor ECI elements where identified.
- Ensure information is collated and allocated correctly, short term planning, issues logs, reviewing designs, reviewing programme submissions, applications, change requests and oversight of design information requests.
- Work with Client Engineers and Assurance to review designs, discharge Principal Design Duties (CDM), manage risks, and support the Project BIM Manager on BEP and digital strategy.
What you'll bring to the role:
- Professionally qualified from a relevant accredited body e.g. Institution of Civil Engineers etc.
- Relevant degree (or similar) in the technical discipline being managed.
- Experience in managing three or more direct reports.
- Experience of this sector and understanding of the technical governance regime.
- Experience of managing the design of projects and disciplines of a similar scale and complexity.
