We are currently looking for a Construction Director - Healthcare (NHP) who will work in our Building Operating Unit, effectively and professionally leading and overseeing day-to-day management of all construction activities of major (circa £150M +) and/or significantly complex projects.

As the Construction Director - Healthcare (NHP), you will:

  • Work with the Design managers to ensure that the project / PCSA is set up correctly and stage 4+ designs are well managed and executed by the design team.
  • Work with the commercial team to assist the procurement process, bringing experience to items like scope writing, review of quotations and ensuring the chosen subcontractors have all the requirements Skanska would expect.
  • Develop and deliver contract programme in conjunction with Planning, Design and Commercial leads on the project.
  • Ensure that all production control procedures are in place, being operated efficiently and carried out in full compliance with company standards, feeding back any improvements to the business as the project progresses.
  • Be responsible for overall site safety and quality culture, ensuring all works are carried out in a planned, controlled and safe manner in accordance with statutory regulations, current standards and Company health, safety environmental and quality standards.
  • Assign clear accountabilities to subcontractors, production team, engineering team to ensure full understanding of roles and responsibilities.

We are looking for:

  • Extensive knowledge/experience of the successful delivery of building projects of £150m+.
  • Demonstrable building sector experience as a Senior Project Manager or major build projects.
  • Demonstrable experience managing and leading a team at delivery phase.
  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent and/or having extensive experience in running construction projects at this level or hold a professional qualification (MCIOB).
  • Key understanding of programme and the importance of sequence.
