You will be working in the Infrastructure Operating Unit based in Leavesden (Watford) where we are responsible for bringing design, build and refurbishment excellence to complex civil engineering projects nationwide – combining technical expertise with a passion for creating lasting value for people and places.

We are currently looking for three Divisional Commercial Directors who will successfully deliver on the financial, commercial, safety, environmental, quality and ethical targets for each project in partnership with the Divisional Director.

As the Divisional Commercial Director, you will:

  • Be accountable for the organisational design of the commercial, risk, controls & procurement functions across projects.
  • Lead the delivery of profit expectation in a culture of outperform, with profit and loss accountability for each project.
  • Accountable for compliance with the claims management process, ensuring all claims are reported in a timely manner with a focus on mitigating risk or maximising opportunity from these claims.
  • Fully contribute to the leadership of each project, as a business leader, providing knowledge, expertise and support to drive consistent performance and culture.
  • Drive and support project controls and governance in all aspects, in line with Skanska UK policies and procedures.
  • Actively promote the Skanska UK Health, Safety and Environmental policies.

We are looking for:

  • Professionally qualified to an appropriate related body.
  • Excellent working knowledge of contract conditions and contract law and their administration.
  • Excellent communicator and people leader and self‑motivated and confident leader.
  • Demonstrated leadership in the Skanska values.
  • Excellent customer relationship skills and stakeholder management.
  • Experience of winning projects in a tier 1 corporate governance structure.
  • Demonstrable skills and experience in all aspects of financial, commercial and project management, and financial/business acumen.
  • Experience of Commercial Lead roles on large scale projects or within business environments.
