We’re working with National Highways on a £679 million transformation of the A428, unlocking faster, smoother journeys between Milton Keynes, Bedford and Cambridge. This project will save precious commuting time, cut carbon emissions and open up long‑term opportunities for local people and businesses.

You will be working in the Infrastructure team, where we bring design, build and refurbishment excellence to complex civil engineering projects nationwide – combining technical expertise with a passion for creating lasting value for people and places.

We are currently looking for a Health, Safety & Wellbeing Coordinator to join us in Cambridge to provide HSW support and administration of the project management processes to the A428 Highways team.

As the Health, Safety & Wellbeing Coordinator, you will:

  • Complete the Month End Skanska BU Reports and HSW Dashboards.
  • Lead the induction process for the project and the highways passport.
  • Create and manage various tracking and reporting spreadsheets to control completion and closure of immediate notifications and lessons learned bulletins resulting from incident investigations.
  • Coordinate the inspection and audit records including the updating of various spreadsheets/databases with this information.
  • Any other support functions or administrative duties as deemed necessary by the HSWQ Director.

We are looking for:

  • Experience on managing up and down, with a particular emphasis on supporting leaders.
  • Level 3 academically recognised qualification or above (i.e. Diploma/Degree/NVQ) relating to health, safety and wellbeing.
  • In‑depth understanding of the principles of health, safety and wellbeing including a good understanding of effective management techniques.
  • Experience in the development and implementation of health, safety and wellbeing strategies.
  • Ability to influence others across a range of levels from the front‑line workforce to Director level, both internally and externally.
