The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.

Provides comprehensive paralegal assistance to partners and attorneys primarily in the form of document preparation, coordination, production, distribution and legal research, with limited supervision, throughout all phases of private funds and investment management transactions. Will be expected to have client contact and ownership of specific processes across projects making this a varied and much valued role.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provide paralegal support to partners, associates, senior legal assistants across the investment management group.
  • Draft and file Companies House forms and liaise with local counsel in relation to equivalent processes in other jurisdictions.
  • Draft ancillary documents e.g. board minutes and resolutions; and liaise with local counsel in relation to the same.
  • Proofread documents for sense, consistency, cross references, formatting and typographical errors.
  • Assist in preparation or review of documents for private fund transactions e.g. subscription documents; intercompany agreements; closing notices; MFN election forms.
  • Distribution of document packs.
  • Manage and track documents to keep on top of the process.
  • Support client KYC processes.
  • Organise and update precedent and transaction bibles/sets and create electronic bibles.
  • Assist with weekly fee updates and liaise with internal billing team.
  • Create binders, print, copy, scan and distribute documents and files.
  • Maintain folder structure within a document management system.
  • Support matter opening processes.
  • Assist in production of thought leadership.
  • Seek to improve workflow and create and maintain paralegal department know-how files.
  • Manage Firm resources responsibly.
  • Comply with and understand Firm operation, policies and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Strong knowledge of MS Word and Excel with technology awareness and the ability to learn new software and operating systems including AI resources.
  • Ability to navigate various electronic databases, virtual data rooms and document review platforms.
  • Strong research skills and proficiency in using various research tools, including Westlaw UK, Lexis Library, Practical Law, company registries and other court-related websites.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and planning skills.
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Superior organizational skills to handle multiple assignments and shifting priorities and deliver on time.
  • Demonstrates ability to pay close attention to detail and performs with high degree of consistent accuracy.
  • Displays strong initiative in carrying out assignments and assumes a high level of responsibility for assigned tasks.
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to use discretion and exercise independent and sound judgment.
  • Ability to work well independently as well as effectively within a team.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Legal Practice Course with corporate electives.
  • Law degree / Graduate Diploma in Law or similar.
  • Minimum of one and up to three (1 – 3) years of experience in a corporate paralegal position or a position requiring similar skillset, expertise and experience.
