Are you an experienced CAD Technician with SolidWorks experience looking to join a successful UK manufacturer? We are seeking a Design & CAD Technician to join our growing Design & Technical team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience producing manufacturing drawings and 3D models who enjoys working closely with production, sales and engineering teams.

You will play a key role in turning customer requirements into accurate manufacturing drawings and production-ready designs while supporting the continued development of innovative products.

The Role

  • Creating, modifying and maintaining accurate 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks
  • Converting customer and sales requirements into practical, manufacturable designs
  • Producing detailed technical drawings for manufacturing and production teams
  • Managing multiple design requests and prioritising workload to meet deadlines
  • Working closely with production teams to resolve design-related queries
  • Liaising with sales teams to clarify requirements and minimise rework
  • Supporting the creation of high-quality 3D models and product visuals for marketing purposes
  • Applying engineering judgement, material awareness and manufacturing knowledge to designs
  • Assisting with continuous improvement initiatives and design enhancements

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Previous experience using SolidWorks within a manufacturing, engineering or product design environment
  • Experience producing 2D manufacturing drawings and 3D models
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering principles
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach

Desirable

  • Experience within metal fabrication, sheet metal or manufacturing sectors
  • Knowledge of Design for Manufacture (DFM)
  • Experience creating product renderings or marketing visuals
  • Engineering, Design or CAD-related qualification
