We are currently recruiting for a Quality Assurance Lead/Quality Engineer to join a growing manufacturing business in Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced quality professional to take ownership of quality processes, support new product introduction, and drive continuous improvement across production.
The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, manufacturing and quality control teams to ensure products and processes meet internal standards, customer requirements and ISO quality management systems.
The Role
As Quality Assurance Lead, you will play a key role in ensuring robust product and process quality across manufacturing operations. You will support APQP activities, new product introduction, validation processes and quality improvement initiatives while maintaining strong quality systems and compliance. Key responsibilities include:
- Lead Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities and support New Product Introduction (NPI) projects
- Develop and manage validation processes including equipment, process and material validation
- Maintain change management and document control processes
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 quality standards and internal specifications
- Lead root cause investigations and CAPA implementation
- Support product and process verification activities
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using quality data and statistical analysis
- Update and manage FMEA documentation to reduce risk and improve process capability
- Work collaboratively with manufacturing, engineering and quality teams to resolve quality issues
About You
To succeed in this role, you will have experience working in a quality role within a manufacturing or production environment. You will likely have experience in:
- Quality Assurance / Quality Engineering roles
- APQP, NPI or product validation processes
- Root cause analysis tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone or 8D
- Managing non-conformance investigations and CAPA processes
- Working with ISO 9001 quality management systems
- FMEA, process improvement and continuous improvement initiatives
Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with engineering and production teams will be key. Experience within high-volume manufacturing environments would be advantageous.
