About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Shift Maintenance Engineer with a 60/40 electrical bias to join a busy manufacturing site in Leeds. You will be responsible for ensuring plant and equipment operate at optimum efficiency through planned and reactive maintenance. This role would suit a multi-skilled engineer with strong electrical fault-finding skills and solid mechanical ability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdowns
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults on production machinery
  • Log all work and maintenance activity accurately on the CMMS system
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives (RCA, 5S, TPM, SMED)
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety procedures
  • Work closely with production to minimise downtime
  • Assist with maintenance projects and improvement work

Skills & Experience Required

  • Apprentice trained in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (electrical bias preferred)
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Good mechanical knowledge (bearings, belts, gearboxes, pneumatics, hydraulics)
  • Proven experience using a CMMS system for logging jobs and PPMs
  • Able to read engineering drawings and electrical schematics
  • IT literate (basic Word/Excel)
  • Flexible to work a rotating 3-shift pattern
