About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Shift Maintenance Engineer with a 60/40 electrical bias to join a busy manufacturing site in Leeds. You will be responsible for ensuring plant and equipment operate at optimum efficiency through planned and reactive maintenance. This role would suit a multi-skilled engineer with strong electrical fault-finding skills and solid mechanical ability.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdowns
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults on production machinery
- Log all work and maintenance activity accurately on the CMMS system
- Support continuous improvement initiatives (RCA, 5S, TPM, SMED)
- Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety procedures
- Work closely with production to minimise downtime
- Assist with maintenance projects and improvement work
Skills & Experience Required
- Apprentice trained in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (electrical bias preferred)
- Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment
- Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Good mechanical knowledge (bearings, belts, gearboxes, pneumatics, hydraulics)
- Proven experience using a CMMS system for logging jobs and PPMs
- Able to read engineering drawings and electrical schematics
- IT literate (basic Word/Excel)
- Flexible to work a rotating 3-shift pattern
