We are seeking a motivated and skilled Shift Engineer (also known as Maintenance Engineer, Multi-skilled Engineer, Mechanical Engineer or Electrical Engineer) to join our growing team. You will be responsible for keeping our plant and equipment running smoothly, carrying out both planned preventive maintenance (PPM)/Pro-active maintenance and responding to breakdowns quickly and safely. This is a hands-on role that combines fault finding, repairs, and continuous improvement across a busy manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform planned, preventive and reactive maintenance on production equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults efficiently.
- Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing techniques (5S, SMED, Root Cause Analysis).
- Record, analyse and report on machine and process performance.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety standards and company procedures.
- Assist in developing annual maintenance and improvement plans.
Skills & Experience Required
- Apprentice trained in Mechanical and/or Electrical Maintenance (multi-skilled).
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving ability with experience in fault finding.
- Reactive maintenance and Pro-active maintenance experience is essential.
- Familiar with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- Computer literate (Word, Excel) for reporting and record-keeping.
- Knowledge of materials processing techniques (advantageous).
- Understanding of engineering specifications and tolerances.
- A team player with a positive, can-do attitude and high attention to detail.
