Credit Controller 6 Month FTC Bedford £28,000 per annum 6 Month Fixed-Term Contract Maternity Cover Potential to be extended Are you an experienced Credit Controller looking for your next opportunity within a busy and supportive Finance team? We are recruiting for an experienced Credit Controller to join a well-established and growing business based in Bedford on an initial 6-month fixed-term contract , providing maternity cover. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership of customer accounts, building positive relationships and proactively resolving outstanding debt. You'll join a collaborative Finance team and play an important role in maintaining healthy cash flow, while working closely with customers, Sales and other areas of the business. What You'll Be Doing Managing customer accounts and proactively chasing outstanding and ageing debt Maximising cash collection in line with agreed payment terms Accurately allocating incoming payments against outstanding invoices Taking and processing customer card payments Authorising customer orders in line with agreed processes Producing and distributing aged debt reports Identifying potential debt issues and ensuring these are highlighted and resolved quickly Building positive relationships with customers and internal stakeholders Maintaining accurate customer and account records Supporting the wider Finance team with additional duties when required Identifying opportunities to improve Credit Control processes and ways of working The core responsibilities are based directly on the role profile, including cash collection, payment allocation, aged-debt reporting, order authorisation and continuous improvement. What We're Looking For Previous Credit Control experience is essential Experience proactively chasing outstanding debt and managing customer accounts Good understanding of accounting and finance processes a formal accounting qualification isn't essential Confident and professional communication skills Strong organisation and attention to detail A proactive approach with the confidence to take ownership of issues Good systems and data-entry skills Reliable and methodical approach to work Ability to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues These requirements reflect the experience and attributes identified in the role profile.
