Are you an experienced Warehouse Team Leader, Warehouse Supervisor, or Senior Warehouse Operative looking for your next step within a fast-paced distribution and logistics environment? We are currently recruiting for a Night Shift Warehouse Team Leader to join a busy loading and dispatch operation in Bedford. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous warehouse leadership or supervisory experience who enjoys leading from the front within a hands-on environment. This role offers genuine progression opportunities, with the potential to progress into an Assistant Manager role in the near future.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for supporting the smooth running of the night shift warehouse loading operation, ensuring goods are loaded accurately, safely, and efficiently while leading a team of approximately 5 warehouse operatives. This is a hands-on role, so you’ll be actively involved in loading duties, warehouse operations, and supporting the wider logistics and dispatch team throughout the shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading and motivating a small warehouse loading team
- Supporting the day-to-day running of the night shift warehouse operation
- Ensuring trailers and delivery vehicles are loaded accurately and efficiently
- Monitoring workflow, productivity, and loading deadlines
- Maintaining high standards of warehouse health and safety
- Supporting with staff training and day-to-day guidance
- Assisting with loading, dispatch, and warehouse duties as required
- Communicating effectively with management and warehouse colleagues
- Helping maintain a clean, organised, and safe warehouse environment
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience within a Warehouse Team Leader, Warehouse Supervisor, Dispatch Supervisor, Loading Team Leader, or Senior Warehouse Operative role
- Experience working within fast-paced warehouse, logistics, or distribution environments
- Comfortable leading and motivating a small team
- Physically fit and comfortable with hands-on warehouse loading duties
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and confidently in English, both verbally and in writing
- A reliable, proactive, and positive attitude
- Good understanding of warehouse health and safety procedures
