Join a growing business where your technical skills will make a real impact. We're looking for an experienced IT Support Engineer to join our established IT team in Bedford. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with solid infrastructure and desktop support experience who enjoys solving technical problems, supporting users and getting involved in IT projects, not just answering helpdesk tickets.
Working closely with the IT Manager, you'll play a key role in maintaining the company's IT infrastructure while supporting users across the business and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
The Role
- Providing hands-on technical support across a wide range of technologies including:
- Windows PCs and laptops
- Active Directory & Group Policy
- VMware virtual servers
- Microsoft Exchange
- Network devices including switches and printers
- Mobile device management
- IT asset management
- System backups
- Helpdesk support
- PC builds and deployments
- Supporting IT projects
- Occasional travel to other company sites when required.
What we're looking for
To be considered, you'll need previous experience in a similar IT support role. We're particularly interested in candidates with experience of:
- Windows desktop support
- Active Directory
- Microsoft Exchange
- VMware
- Network troubleshooting
- PC builds & deployments
- Hardware & software fault finding
- Managing helpdesk tickets
- Supporting users across a busy business environment
Experience working within a manufacturing or multi-site environment would be advantageous but isn't essential.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 2 years' commercial IT Support experience
- Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills
- Experience supporting Windows environments
- Knowledge of Active Directory and Microsoft business applications
- Able to prioritise multiple support requests
- Excellent communication skills
- Full UK Driving Licence (or ability to travel between sites when required).
